What is a technical stopover?

A technical stopover is a stop of short duration before reaching your final destination. The stop allows the airline to refuel the aircraft or carry out maintenance operations and is usually at an airport on your itinerary.

As a general rule, passengers and baggage remain on board the aircraft during operations before taking off again to reach your final destination.

For passengers traveling to Papeete (Tahiti) via the United States, passengers may be asked to disembark the plane and go through immigration to proceed to the US entry formalities before re-boarding.
